| Goals: |
* To celebrate freedom of speech, freedom of anonymity, and the best writing from residents of Second Life. * To celebrate our freedom of anonymity in Second Life * To celebrate the best fiction, poetry, essays and plays written by the residents of Second Life Material we are interested in publishing includes short fiction, poetry, essays, plays, commentary, experimental forms, and whatever you dream up that we like. Each month will also include a centerfold of the finest erotica SL writers have to offer. Most pieces should be less than 5000 words. Centerfold erotica pieces should be less than 1000 words (100 - 800 words is better). If you have a longer piece that could be serialized, yes, we are interested! |
| To prepare your text: |
The first lines must be the title of the piece, followed by the name you want listed in the magazine. If you're writing under an alt or a pen name, also list an SL name that we can use to contact you inworld. For Example: Story Title by Pseudo Nym (Sodovan Torok) Any submissions that are missing this information will be ignored. The name of the file or notecard should be your av name, space, dash, space, the first few words of the title of your piece. For example: Ada Radius - Poem.txt Your text should not have much more formatting than line and paragraph spacing. During editing we remove formatting, and pieces are passed to typesetting in raw text format. Each month has a general theme to be announced about two months in advance. The announcement will be made to the Written Word and to the INKsters. Announcements will also be carried on this webpage. |
| Submissions |
To send by email, put your piece into a text file and send it as an attachment to one of the editors: adaradius@gmail.com sodovan.torok@gmail.com At present, submission carries the implied offering of the right to publish in a single issue of ANON magazine. Distribution of an issue of ANON at this time takes the form of inworld objects and a PDF file available for download on one or more websites, and may take other forms as other technology and media venues become available. ANON has no income now and is dependent on contributions of time, effort, resources, and writings. We plan to have income in the future from contributions, advertising, and, possibly, online sales. As our financial situation changes, we will announce policies for payments to authors at the in-world ANON office, at INKsters group announcements, and on the websites where the pdf versions are available. If there are future sales of existing issues in new media, we will arrange to compensate the authors who contributed to those issues. We do not expect the money from such sales to be substantial. As with any publication, submission carries the implied assertion that the author has the right to offer for publication. |
| Acceptance: |
By giving your written piece to us, you are granting us the right to publish your piece in one issue of ANON. Should you decide to revoke permission, you must contact us no later than the 20th of the month, otherwise, we reserve the right to go ahead and publish. We do edit pieces that we accept for publication. We will drop a notecard on you inworld (and/or via email) with the edited version for your approval. If we do not hear from you before the 20th, we assume that you approve of the edits and will publish that version. |
| Copyright | ANON magazine owns the
copyright to each issue. This includes graphic design, page layout,
all staff content, typesetting, etc, etc. The individual authors
retain the copyright for their individual work. Author: If you expect to enforce a future copyright claim, you should take care to lay the basis for establishing that you are the person named in the copyright claim and for providing a RL way for interested parties to contact you in the future. |
