| 1. Open Windows Movie Maker. In the task list, look under "Edit Movie." Do the three tasks below. | You can do these tasks any time. It is a little more convenient to so them near the end. |
| 2. "Make title or credits." Make a title at the beginning. Make a credit roll at the end. | You can easily edit these. Right click in the story board. |
| 3. "View video transitions." Insert a dissolve after the title. | Transitions are generally used to suggest the passage of time or change in location. |
| 4. "View video effects." Try an effect that looks interesting. | |
| 5. Make another WMV file. Look at it again to see if it is the final product you want. | If you noticed problems that you never saw before, don't worry. There is nothing abnormal about your brain. These effects are produced by Shrodinger's cats. |
| 6. When you have a completed the WMV File you can upload it to YouTube. I will list it in the Thinkerer Studios channel if you want me to. OR | YouTube |
| 7. If it is short, you can give it to me. I will work short vids into anthologies and publish them as longer pieces. As with books, I would be the editor and you would be the author of a portion. |
You can probably send a 1-minute video by e-mail. To transfer large files, see VidTech FAQ |

| In case you
think you now know everything-- "Editing is the process that transforms a miscellaneous collection of badly-focused, poorly-exposed and horribly-framed shots containing reversed screen direction, unmatched action, disappearing props, flair, and hair in the aperture (but not containing any close-ups, cut-ins, or cut-aways), into a smooth, coherent, and effective visual statement of the original script, for which the director gets the credit."
