Think about your routine daily experiences. Pick something minor, trivial. Something that is just barely important enough for you to think about. |
With practice, you can go on to something that is more important. When you feel like it. See: Self-Awareness |

Close your eyes. Watch the experience in your mind. |
Don’t talk to yourself about it. Focus
on the experience. |

Do the same thing again. This time, pay attention to how you feel during the experience. |

If you wonder whether you picked up on all your feelings, imagine the experience again. You may find more than one feeling. You can have positive and negative feelings at the same time. |
When you think you are picking up on the most important feelings, talk to yourself about them if you want to. Don’t worry if you can’t find the right
words. You may run into the right words later. |
| Print this column. Put in near your bed. Do what it says as you get ready for bed. Spend no more than 5 minutes on it. |
When the experience happens again, pay attention to your feelings in that moment. Compare your imagery with the actual experience. |
