FamiliarsAnything you study will have some connection with everyday experience. Text books will point out the connections. All you have to do is remember what the book told you. Until that gets boring. Just remember what you were told. That works for kids. As brains get older, they don’t like just remembering what they are told. They like finding out what they have not been told. My very own dead mouse. A principle easily grasped by a puppy. So if the textbook gives you old, boring connections look for some new ones that are more interesting to you. They don’t’ have to be better. They just have to be yours. Finding familiars. Start with the similars. Start with those old, boring connections in the book. What are they like? What are they like that is new and modern and about the future? |
