These gateways will have VWBPE Conference information and directions to the Conference Reception area.

English:  Rockcliffe Community Gateway -- This gateway will have helpers available most of the time between 3 am and 6 pm California time (Second Life time).

To enter via one of these gateways, click on the language or gateway of your choice above. You will get instructions on how

1. to register (NO CHARGE) as a new resident of Second Life,

2. choose an avatar name, and 

3. download/install the software 

After you follow these instructions, you will arrive in Second life at the gateway you have selected.  If it is one of our cooperating gateways, look for signs with VWBPE logo.    Click on any such sign. (Click or click on means: Put your cursor on the thing. Then press left mouse key (or the mouse key if you have only one).

Clicking on a sign will get usually get you a notecard, which will go into your inventory.  Depending on your settings, the notecard may also be displayed on your screen or not. 

As soon as the VWBPE Reception Center is open to the public, the notecard you get from the sign will include a landmark that will take you to the VWBPE Reception Center.  To use a landmark in a notecard, click on the graphic and click on "Teleport" in the resulting panel (lower left).

When you have completed the entry arrangements you will be offered a list of gateways that you may use to get familiar with Second Life.  Look for a gateway in your preferred language.

If you enter via this route, you may not immediately see a way to get to the VWBPE Reception Center.  If you need help finding the Reception Center, come to this page.

If the notecard is not displayed, follow these steps to read it.

1. Open your inventory window (button, bottom right of your screen).

2.  Look for notecard with  VWBPE in the name

    2.a If you do not see the notecard immediately, type VWBPE in the white bar at the top of your inventory window.

3. Double click on the name to open the note card. 

4. After you read the notecard you can close it by clicking on the X (Upper right).  The notecard will stay in your inventory until you delete it.
