You have the brains to understand other people.
Your brain is built to understand other people. If you don't think it is doing the job for you, you are probably trying to do the job with the wrong part of your brain. Or you have the wrong idea about the job your brain is built to do. |

Mirror neurons. Your brain has a special system (a set of modules) that you use to imitate other people. Many mammals have the same kind of system. Especially social animals. That system is what lets them function as a group. That system is what lets you work with other people. And what lets other people work with you. That system is among those quiet modules that your language modules calls intuition. Or sometime refers to as "merely intuition." If you accept that condescending expression you may be overlooking some of you the powers your brain can offer you. |

Now about that wrong idea. Some people wish they could control other people. You are entitled to wish that you could control other people. You are entitled to be disappointed. You are entitled to keep trying to control other people. You are entitled to keep being disappointed. Your brain is not built to control other people. It is built to control you. It is built to help you interact with other people. That means you do what other people want when that moves you towards your goals. You don't do what other people want when you don't see it as in your interest. Other people have brains a lot like yours. If you could control them, they could control you. |

Beyond self-awareness. The more you understand yourself, the more you understand other people. The more you understand other people, the more you understand yourself. |
